TV and radio regular, Dr Carrie Ruxton, drew on her research and knowledge of so-called Super Foods to develop the following seven rules for realistic weightloss:
| A moderate calorie level which is enough to promote weight loss without leaving you feeling hungry. Aim to consume between 1,200 and 1,600 calories per day to see successful results | |
| Plenty of healthy, high protein foods which promote satisfaction during and after main meals | |
| Drinks based around water to minimise unwanted calories. Aim for 8-10 glasses of fluid a day, more if the weather is hot | |
| A daily dose of oatbran and generous servings of oats to help prolong feelings of fullness throughout the day and naturally boost fibre levels, aiding healthy digestion | |
| A moderate fat intake, mostly from the super-healthy unsaturated fats, particularly from fish and olive oil | |
| A moderate carbohydrate intake from low GI foods which have a gentler effect on blood sugar levels than high GI foods | |
| Add in 30-60 minutes of physical activity daily, e.g. walking, cycling, sport, vigorous housework, to maximise weight loss http://www.mornflake.com/7days/7_steps.php |
